Search is a brand channel now. Act like it.
AI answers, social search and zero-click results have changed the job. Ranking matters less than how you show up when you do.

For years SEO was treated as plumbing: important, invisible and owned by someone in a different meeting. That separation no longer works.
People now search on video platforms, in chat assistants and inside marketplaces. Many never click through at all. What they see in the result is the brand experience.
Optimise for the answer, not just the click
Write pages that genuinely answer the question in the first few lines, in your brand's voice. Summaries get quoted. Fluff gets skipped.
Treat social search as search
Captions, on-screen text and spoken words are all indexed. Plan short-form content around the questions your audience actually asks, and name things the way they do.
The best search strategy and the best content strategy are increasingly the same document.
